2009 Alumni Day Class Dinner

Saturday, February 21

It's time to make your Princeton plans for 2009.  The Alumni Day Class dinner will be held again at the Nassau Club, on Saturday, February 21, or, if you are using the Chinese calendar, 26 days into the Year of the Ox.  Our guest speakers are no doubt familiar with both.

Anne-Marie Slaughter (for more, see below) who is Dean of the Woodrow Wilson School and the Bert G. Kerstetter '66 University Professor of Politics and International Affairs will be joined by Andrew Moravcsik, Professor of Politics, who spent the 2007-2008 year on sabbatical in China. They will talk with us on China starting at 5:00.

The tickets are $50 apiece.  There will be a cash bar.  Cocktails at 4:30.  Send reservations to BOB NAHAS at Herbert Mines Associates, 375 Park Ave, New York, NY 10152.

Mini Reunion

Thursday, April 30 - Sunday, May 3

The combined '66-'65 Hershey Mini is set for Thursday, April 30-Sunday, May 3 in Hershey, PA. Our host, John O'Brien, '65, is President of the Milton Hershey School, which owns Hershey Park. Friday will be Hershey Day: a visit to the chocolate factory, a meal at the Hershey Hotel, a tour of the Milton Hershey School, golf, tennis, etc.  On Saturday, we'll bus to Gettysburg for a four-hour tour of the battlefield.  KIT MILL (Christopheramill@aol.com) has rooms set aside at the Hershey Lodge.

More on Our Alumni Day Speaker

The photo shows Princeton Economics Professor Paul Krugman being toasted by Christina Paxson, Chair of the Economics Department, and Anne-Marie Slaughter, Dean of the Woodrow Wilson School and our upcoming Alumni Day dinner speaker. Dr. Krugman (Speaker at our 2006 alumni day dinner and JEFF SHAFER's Economics student at Yale) is being congratulated for being awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences. He is well known as both a path-breaking economic theorist, for which he won the Prize, and a forceful public policy advocate, which he demonstrated in a provocative talk on the US healthcare system that he delivered to 66’ers at our Alumni Day Class dinner in February, 2006.

Class Discussion Group

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:   When replying in the Princeton-66 discussion group, be sure to first click on "Reply to All" on your e-mail program or your message will go only to the sender, who is probably not interested in what you have to say, anyhow!  The rest of us are interested in your comments (not) since that is why we have a discussion group.  While those of you who have, so far, signed up are probably embarrassed about revealing your inner thoughts to others because of the inevitable flack that you will receive from anyone who reads what you have to say, please remember that we probably all have similar problems, issues, or questions, so we can all be embarrassed together.  With many classmates groping for what they can do with the last few glimmers of daylight left in their careers, this is an ideal way to share ambitions and opportunities that still may be out there.  Let's get ON LINE!

[Note:  If you "Reply to All" you will be sending a message to the group as well as a message to the author of the original message.  Since the author of the original message is part of the group, he will be getting two copies of your message.  If you eliminate the author's name from your reply then he will just get one copy of your reply and everyone will be happy.]

All members of the Class of 1966 are encouraged to register with the Princeton-66 TigerNet Discussion Group as well as the TigerNet.  Please send the latest news about yourselves and your classmates to our Class Secretary Jim Parmentier jparmen@aol.com .
